BRANDEL launches iconic jewellery collection with Carole Baijings

March 10 2026

Classic elements become modern icons.

BRANDEL is launching its debut jewellery collection in collaboration with the renowned Dutch designer, Carole Baijings. The internationally acclaimed designer, renowned for her bold use of colour and graphic patterns, presents her vision of jewellery for the first time. The result is two collections in which classic elements, such as pearls and precious stones, are reimagined as modern icons. “At BRANDEL, we invite designers because of their vision, which guides the outcome,” says Jochem Reijndorp, founder of BRANDEL. “Carole has done this with such individuality that her signature style is recognisable in every design.

Design vision as a starting point

For its collection, BRANDEL collaborates with designers from a wide range of disciplines. The design process is determined by their design language, use of colour and style. Free, intuitive and without compromise. The result is jewellery with a bold, distinctive character. BRANDEL works with craftsmen from the highest segment to bring these ideas to life: goldsmiths, stone cutters and other specialists. Designs are developed, tested and refined in close collaboration until every detail is perfect. “Carole has a unique style that you recognise immediately,” says Reijndorp. ‘I expected her vision to produce something special, and she has more than delivered on that. Her collections are innovative and unmistakably Baijings.

Drops of Pearls

In Drops of Pearls, Carole reimagines the most traditional piece of jewellery: the pearl. She achieves this by arranging them in graphic compositions and partially dipping them in coloured enamel. This transforms the pearl from classic to modern jewellery.  Carole: “The glossy pink colour gradient on the rough pearl makes it sensual and sophisticated. It’s a real eye-catcher!”

Orbit

The Orbit collection is all about balance, with each piece of jewellery moving freely like a mobile sculpture. The Orbital universe accentuates the beauty of the face, neck, and hands with its continuous circular motion. Carole Baijings designed the Duostone for the Orbit collection. Consisting of two different gemstones, the Duostone creates a new colour composition when the stones are joined together, such as Lemon Quartz with Pink Opal and Blue Topaz with Mint Chrysoprase. The stones are joined and cut as one, into the traditional marquise cut. One stone is milky and the other transparent. This creates an icon of one of the world’s oldest cuts, used in rings, necklaces and earrings. Carole says, “I love the interplay of transparency and layering. Colours that combine to create new colour schemes. Colours that accentuate each other when combined with diamonds, gold and silver.”
